Rachel Ruto Asks Kenyans to Forgive the Jubilee Government

Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, Rachel Ruto on Monday interceded on behalf of the Jubilee government asking Kenyans to forgive them for their failures in their first term.

Speaking during a prayer rally at Central Park in Nanyuki, Rachel acknowledged that indeed there are some aspects the government performed poorly and had failed to meet the people’s expectations.

She confessed that it was not easy to satisfy the needs of over 40 million Kenyans as they had promised in 2013.

“As God’s servant and wife of Deputy President I plead for your forgiveness on behalf of the government for failing to address some problems facing the country,” she admitted.

She used the prayer rally to call for peace throughout the country especially during this time prior to the August elections.

“I will take a message of peace to all the counties and I will urge people to desist from inciting Kenyans during the campaigns so that we can have peace before and after the General Election,” she stated.

Rachel called for peace throughout the Laikipia region through dialogue between religious leaders and politicians to address the detrimental invasions on private ranches and farms by armed herders who were threatening the security of the area.

Among those who attended Monday’s prayer rally were Governor Joshua Irungu, Laikipia East MP Mutahi Kimaru and Nairobi-based Bishop Harrison Ng’ang’a of Christian Foundation Fellowship.

Mrs Ruto has organised a series of prayer rallies across the country called Tuombeni Kenya (Pray for Kenya) as she plans to foster peaceful co-existence before and after the August polls.

The event was held at Central Park in Nanyuki Town during the first in a series of prayer rallies Mrs Ruto has organized across the country.
