IEBC Wants Wavinya Ndeti's Case Heard By New Judge

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has filed an application stating that Machakos Gubernatorial Aspirant Wavinya Ndeti's case should be heard by another Judge.

This was after the High Court Judge George Odunga suspended an earlier decision by IEBC to bar Wavinya from the gubernatorial race.

Judge Odunga directed the IEBC to allow Wavinya to run for the seat, for now, pending determination of her appeal.

He ordered the electoral commission to include her name in the gazette notice on candidates vying in the August polls.

Ms Ndeti had earlier on been accused of being in both the Wiper Party and her former Party Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU).

The IEBC which had earlier cleared Ndeti ruled that her nomination by Wiper was irregular.

The former Kathiani MP has however opposed the application by the commission.

Wavinya will face off with incumbent Governor Alfred Mutua who is vying on a Maendeleo Chap chap ticket.
