2 Chiefs Loose Jobs for Overlooking Cattle Rustling

Two chiefs have lost their jobs in Baringo County for allowing cattle rustling to continue in their back yards.

Silale location chief Peter Adumangura, and Lomonosiwa Leparmuria from Kapedo East location, have been accused of abetting the crime.

The Nation reports that in addition to turning a blind eye to it, the two are said to have frustrated efforts by the county security to recover stolen animals.

Baringo County Commissioner Peter Okwanyo says the two have been in cahoots with cattle rustlers who offer them bribes to overlook their crimes.

The two were allegedly aware of an attack that happened in Turkana County last week

More than 48 camels and 3,000 goats were stolen but were recovered days later by police and leaders, who included Turkana South MP James Lomenen.
