5 Suspected Robbers Killed in Nairobi Shoot Out

Five suspects were Wednesday night gunned down by police in separate robbery incidents in Nairobi.

In Mountain View estate along Waiyaki Way, six armed robbers broke into a house, taking the family hostage and robbing them of valuables.

Three managed to escape but the other three were cornered after they sought refuge in an adjacent building.

Police who had responded to distress calls from the residents managed to gun down the three gangsters.

An iPad, laptops, a wrist watch and a homemade gun were among the recovered items.

Elsewhere in Dandora estate, a suspected robber was shot dead after he fired at police.

It is believed that he was in a gang of four who were holed up in a house in the area when police ambushed them.

A manhunt has been launched for the members of the gang who escaped.

In Makadara area, another suspected thug was shot dead after refusing to surrender.

He was in a group of three who were robbing residents and police recovered a gun and ammunition from him.
