Mother and 2 Children Die After Fire Burns Down House in Buruburu, Nairobi

A woman and her two children, aged three and six are reported to have been burnt to death after their house in Buruburu, Nairobi caught fire.

According to the Daily Nation, the house caught fire at around midnight on Sunday and razed the house in the hours that followed.

Circumstances that led to the tragic fire are under investigation.

The three deaths have raised alarm over an increasing number of city fires that have claimed more than 10 lives in the past two weeks with over half that number being toddlers.

30 people were left homeless and three died in Cotton slums, Lang'ata, after a fire broke out over the weekend.

The three family members were a 32-year-old woman and her two children.

Earlier on in the week, three children including a four year old perished in Riruta after a fire spread through neighbouring houses hampering efforts by firemen to reach the children in time.

Two children died at another fire in Shauri Moyo incident after a kerosene stove burnt down three houses.
