Full List of Kenyans on the Guinness Book of World Records Including Joseph Love for Milking 30 Cows

Joseph Love of Kilifi Plantations Limited in 1992, set the world record for the first man to have milked a high amount of milk by hand. Mr Love milked 531 litres from 30 cows by hand in 24 hours.

He is among a few Kenyans who have managed to put Kenya on the Guinness Book of World Records, exceptional among them, the retired athlete Tegla Lorupe who currently holds three world records.

Loroupe holds the record for best time in the 20,000 metres run in the year 2000, fastest 25,000 metres run in 2002 and a record time in the 30,000 metres race in 2003.

Another accomplished athlete who has made it to the Guinness hall of fame is Paul Tergat in 2003 for the fastest marathon at 2hr 04min 55sec.

Other athletes who have broken the world record include Daniel Komen in 1998 for the fastest time in the 3,000 metre race, Paul Kosgei for the fastest 25 km run in 2004, the Kenyan 800m relay team (William Yampoy, Wilfred Bungei, Joseph Mutua and Ismael Kombich) in 2006 for the fastest time, Hillary Kimaiyo for the World's fastest 10 kilometre race in 2007 and Samuel Wanjiru for the fastest half marathon in 2007.

In 2004, 84-year old Kimani Ng'ang'a Murage became the world's oldest person to begin primary school when he enrolled into Standard One at Kapkenduiyo Primary School, Eldoret, Kenya.

Three Kenyans, Andy Roberts, Terry Stevenson and John Fanshawe in 1986 broke the world record for the highest number of birds of one species counted in 24 hours. The three who were birdwatching counted 342 birds of the same species.

A year later in 1987, Lopiding Hospital in Lokichogio - Kenya, was awarded the world record for the largest present-day war hospital.

In 2011, Kenya received two world records, one for the highest number of people washing hands at 19352 participants and when Ms Kate Kibugi of the Sarakasi Trust remarkably passed under a bar balanced at a height of 20cm to break the Limbo world record.

Kenya's H_Art the Band is set to break the world record for the longest song to officially be released at 4 hours 04 minutes 02 seconds in April of 2018.
