Moses Kajwang’ Warns President Uhuru Kenyatta Against Campaigning With Deputy President William Ruto In Homa Bay

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s planned campaigns in Homa Bay County have already begun sparking political fireworks with local leaders issuing ultimatums even before the Jubilee team tours the region.

Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’ has demanded that if the president plans to campaign in the county, he should not be accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto.

“I have been informed that the President is soon visiting this county. We are telling him to exclude Ruto in his entourage during the visit,” Kajwang' warned during an ODM youth convention in the county.

In a quick rejoiner, Jubilee Party officials in Homa Bay warned Kajwang’ against giving the president conditions for his campaigns.

Karachuonyo MP James Rege and Jubilee Party coordinator in Homa Bay Odhiambo Makowiti argued that all presidential candidates and their deputies must be free to campaign in all parts of the country.

“The senator needs to understand his role well because he has no mandate to dictate to the President whom to travel with because Homa Bay is part of Kenya like other regions,” Rege stated.

Makowiti stated that Kajwang’s remarks were actually working against NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga’s bid for the presidency as they were perpetrating prejudice in Kenya.

The President is expected to lead a government delegation to launch the Mbita-Rusinga Island Bridge, built by a Chinese contractor for Sh1.5 Billion.

The area is represented by MP Millie Odhiambo who is notorious for boldly hurling insults at the President.
