President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have cancelled a tour that was scheduled to begin on Saturday in Turkana County.
The move came after the death of Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery who passed on a few hours after being admitted at Karen Hospital.
It is understood that the decision was made so as to condole with the nation following the demise of the CS whose long service to the nation has been outstanding.
The President is scheduled to address the nation later in the day even as the nation awaits more details on the death of the Minister.
The tour was meant to drum up support for the Head of State's re-election as well as to campaign for other Jubilee candidates.
It is not clear when the Jubilee party will reschedule the tour or when it will resume its campaigns.
Meanwhile, various public leaders continue to pour in glowing tribute to the late Nkaissery for his dedicated service to the nation.
His body is currently at Lee Funeral Home where various leaders continue to stream in to condole with the family.
