The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the way forward regarding the procurement of the presidential ballot papers.
First, the body has invited all presidential candidates for a meeting on July 10, 2017, at 11.00 am.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati made the announcement following the cancellation of the Presidential ballot paper printing tender by the High Court on Friday.
Speaking during a press briefing, Chebukati also invited the public to submit memoranda on the procurement of the presidential ballot papers on July 11, 2017, by 5.00 pm.
He noted that the Commission would hold public hearings on July 12 regarding the ballot papers printing.
Finally, Mr Chebukati stated that the polls body would appeal the High Court's decision to involve the public in the ballot paper procurement process.
IEBC however assured all Kenyans that it was making efforts to ensure all processes were in place to deliver a free, fair and credible election in August.
On Friday, the High Court cancelled the presidential ballot paper printing tender awarded to Dubai-based Al Ghurair company.
In their ruling, the judges faulted IEBC for failing to consult all stakeholders in the August poll before awarding the Sh2.5-billion tender to Al Ghurair.
The Court also noted that the Commission ignored several procurement processes including public participation as required by law.
