NASA Leader Musalia Mudavadi Raises Questions on Joseph Nkaissery's Sudden Death

The opposition coalition National Super Alliance (NASA) has raised serious questions about the sudden death of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi has called for thorough investigations, questioning "how such a healthy person can drop dead in a matter of hours."

The statement read in part that "the country, and more so, the family stands to benefit from knowing how such a healthy person can drop dead in a matter of hours."

With the public yet to know what caused his death and with investigations underway, Mudavadi warned that the investigations should establish the truth and not in any way be a cover up.

"We hope the promised speedy investigations by government takes off, are genuine and will not be mired in deliberate mix-ups that could lead to cover-ups," he stated in the statement.

As leaders continue to mourn Nkaissery, Mudavadi expressed hope that his death was a natural one and not caused by “…hand by evil forces intent on destabilising the country, especially during this election period.”

In a glowing tribute to Nkaissery, Mudavadi stated that he was man who believed that public service was a duty and a calling to serve at the best of his ability.

"We have always held the late Nkaissery in high esteem despite our various run-ins with him over his abrasiveness," read the statement.

The former CS who appeared in perfect health died suddenly a few hours after attending a public event in Uhuru Park.

Investigations have been launched to establish the cause of his death on Saturday morning.
