Kisumu County Jubilee Candidates Ask President Uhuru Kenyatta For Campaign Money

Jubilee candidates from Kisumu county have appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to offer financial assistance ahead of the August polls.

The candidates claim that they have been neglected by the ruling party despite their concerted efforts to campaign for the President.

They added that they were at a disadvantage, given that their campaign grounds were in the National Super Alliance (NASA) stronghold.

Speaking during a rally over the weekend, Jubilee's gubernatorial candidate in the county Mrs Christine Atieno Otieno stated that support from the party's top organ would give them political mileage.

Mrs Otieno further condemned impostors whom she said had been travelling to Nairobi seeking financial support from the President, masquerading as the party's candidates and campaigners.

"We are the genuine aspirants from Nyanza, our posters are out there and we are working to ensure the President is reelected come August 8," she told reporters.

She extended a warm welcome to the President, assuring him that he has a solid support base in Kisumu.

"We have invited the President to come and we want to inform him that he has supporters in Nyanza. We are at the ground and we assure him that he has supporters," Otieno assured.
