Plane Crashes in Nairobi Southern Bypass Near Langata

  • A light aircraft has crashed near the southern bypass in Kibera, Nairobi.

    The six-seater Cessna 206 reportedly crashed near the National Housing Corporation Houses shortly after taking off from Wilson airport.

    Speaking to the media, Police Airwing Commandant Rodgers Mbithi confirmed the incident stating that the aircraft was headed for Kabarak when it crashed.

    The plane was carrying two Citizen TV reporters and a cameraman to a National Super Alliance (NASA) rally in Baringo.

    The journalists - Mauritius Oduor, Sam Ogina and Joseph Njane - and crew members have been taken to Nairobi West Hospital where they are reported to be in stable condition.
