National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Thursday night announced that he was ready to concede defeat in the August elections if President Uhuru Kenyatta beats him.
Speaking during an interview on NTV, the Opposition Leader stated that he would concede defeat provided that the exercise would be free, fair and credible.
"We are sportsmen and we know in every contest there must be a winner and a loser. Therefore we shall accept defeat if the elections are free and fair.
"Life does not end with Raila Odinga...Raila Odinga is not Kenya," he stated.
In the matter of election preparedness, Mr Odinga mentioned that IEBC was not fully prepared for the elections and as such, the Opposition was yet to be convinced that the August elections would be credible.
"At the moment, IEBC is yet to inspire our confidence that the exercise will be above board. We have challenges of ballot papers, flaws in the data captured in the voter registers among many other issues they should address," Odinga stated.
While responding to a question on his future after politics, the former Prime Minister stated that he would be an advisor after quitting active politics.
The NASA leader also announced that on Friday he will launch a book outlining his development agenda for Kenyans in the event he wins the August 8 General Election.
According to him, the book, The Quest for change, focuses on steps to address challenges faced by the Kenyan youth.
Mr Odinga also condemned the attack on his caravan in Thika on Thursday stating that Kenyans should exercise tolerance.
He dismissed claims that he was an enemy of the Kikuyu community stating that most of his close friends are Kikuyus and that in 2002 he endorsed former President Mwai Kibaki, a Kikuyu, to be president
The ODM leader asked Kenyans to elect him in August to correct the many errors that the Jubilee administration had committed.
