NASA Flag bearer Raila Odinga's Motorcade Stoned in Thika

Police have been forced to lob teargas canisters after rowdy youth disrupted a rally by National Super Alliance (NASA) Flag bearer Raila Odinga in Thika.

Reports indicate that a section of the residents began to chant Jubilee slogans as Odinga made his address.

Shortly later, they hurled stones while heckling forcing the Opposition leader and his entourage to flee.

Earlier on, security had been beefed up in the area ahead of NASA’s tour of Murang'a County.

Murang’a South OCPD Paul Wanjama had urged residents to maintain peace and listen to every politician’s manifesto instead of jeering and heckling.

"If a resident does not want to hear a politician let him or her keep off instead of disrupting the political meetings," Wanjama stated.

On Wednesday, the NASA leaders were forced to cut short their rally in Kabarnet, Baringo County after a section of the crowd heckled and jeered them.

The group claimed they disrupted the rally after they received reports that Deputy President William Ruto had been heckled during President Uhuru Kenyatta's tour of Homa Bay County.

Others claimed that there were hate leaflets against Ruto being spread in the area causing panic among the residents.
