NASA Leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka Disagree over Choice of Nairobi Woman Representative

National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka over the weekend disagreed on the choice on Nairobi Woman Representative.

Mr Odinga while campaigning in the city urged Embakassi residents to embrace a six-piece system in the upcoming elections and vote for Esther Passaris in the Woman Rep contest.

According to Mr Odinga, city residents should vote for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidates from the Presidential to Ward representatives and ignore aspirants from the other parties.

The former Prime Minister's remarks did not go well with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who felt that the residents had the right to choose their candidates freely.

Mr Musyoka asked the residents to support Wiper party candidates and vote for Rahab Ndambuki in the Woman representative position.

“Brother Raila has asked you to vote six-piece and support Esther Passaris (ODM) for woman representative post but as Wiper, here we have Rahab Ndambuki,” he stated.

Nairobi Woman Rep positions is one of the most contested races that will see incumbent Rachael Shebesh of Jubilee face off with Passaris and Ndambuki.

Earlier on, disagreements also emerged in NASA after Mr Odinga and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi settled on different candidates for the Ruaraka Parliamentary seat.

Mr Odinga endorsed incumbent Member of Parliament Tom Kajwang whereas Mudavadi expressed his support for Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro of ANC.
