The Amani National Congress (ANC) has urged NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga to desist calling for a six-piece vote in the western region.
Speaking while addressing the media on Monday, ANC Secretary-General Godfrey Osotsi requested Raila to take charge of leaders from his party who were undermining the other coalition partners.
Mr Osotsi further noted that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM's) call for a six-piece voting pattern for its nominees was threatening the unity of the alliance, especially in their perceived strongholds.
"Undermining ANC, Ford-K, Wiper or CCM may not go down well with their supporters," he stated.
The Secretary-General made the remarks following recent comments by Mr Odinga urging Kenyans to embrace a six-piece system where they only vote for ODM candidates from the President to the Ward Rep.
Mr Odinga noted that electing ODM candidates would give them a majority in both houses and thus make it easy for them to pass crucial bills.
His remarks have, however, elicited a lot or reactions with other leaders noting that it was not fair to embrace the system.
Luo elders have also rejected the move stating that Kenyans should be allowed to choose their preferred candidates.
