Jubilee Party's Othaya Parliamentary aspirant Gichuki Mugambi was Tuesday morning rushed to hospital after he was badly injured in a road crash at Ruiru area, Kiambu County.
Mr Mugambi was reportedly driving from Ruiru to Ruai with two other people who were also injured in the 1 am incident.
The MP hopeful is currently admitted at the Nairobi Hospital where doctors disclosed that one of his legs was badly injured.
The other casualties were also rushed to hospital and are in stable condition.
Mugambi, who is a close ally to former President Mwai Kibaki, clinched the Jubilee ticket in April after he garnered 20,228 votes against incumbent Othaya MP Mary Wambui who got 12,524 votes.

Mugambi’s accident comes after Jubilee's Kitutu Chache South Parliamentary candidate Leonard Mwamba died on Friday after he was involved in a road accident at Nyakoe Market along Kisii-Kisumu road.
Mwamba died after the Land Cruiser Prado he was travelling in lost control and crashed.
According to witnesses, a Class Four child who was returning home from school died on the spot after he was hit by Mwamba's car.
