8 Weru Secondary School Students Arrested Over Attempt to Burn Administration Block

Eight students from Weru Secondary School in Nyandarua County have been arrested over attempts to burn the institution's administration block.

According to Area OCPD Joseph Cheruiyot, the students had caused a fracas at the school on Monday.

The OCPD stated that police responded fast after being notified by the Deputy Principal who raised an alarm.

"Officers from Kasuku police post found the students had already started a fire at the deputy principal's office," the police boss stated.

He added that more students might be arrested after investigations into the incident were completed.

Journalists who visited the school on Wednesday found the office had already been repainted.

The School Principal prevented journalists from taking photos stating that the unrest by the students was no cause for alarm.

"It was a small, small, skirmish. We can’t say it was anything major," Mungai highlighted.
