Raila Declares He Will Fire Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa If Elected

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has vowed to fire Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa if he wins the August polls.

Addressing residents during a campaign tour in Lamu county, the opposition chief accused Marwa of not serving the people diligently and being behind the rise of insecurity in the region.

"We won't tolerate public servants who become bosses instead of servants. We won't tolerate people who mix politics with their jobs and that's why Marwa and like-minded individuals will have to go once we take office," Raila stated.

He added that the coordinator had failed to perform his duties without bias for Jubilee as he openly engaged in politics in favor of the government side.

"We cannot run a country where public servants openly take political sides when their jobs require them to be non-partisan. A public servant is just like the name suggests; a servant for all," the NASA leader elaborated.

NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Raila’s words adding that Marwa had failed in his duties as he was more focused on undermining the campaigns of opposition leaders.

"Because of Marwa, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho hasn't even had a second of peaceful sleep. Instead of equally rendering service, Marwa has decided he will work for Jubilee by oppressing the Opposition politicians on inconsequential matters," Kalonzo said.

He observed that Marwa’s attacks on the Mombasa governor were becoming personal adding that there was no place for the regional coordinator's antics in the democratic society.
