Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago Reveals Plan to Disrupt NASA's Rally in Eldoret

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago on Tuesday revealed plans by his rivals to disrupt a National Super Alliance (NASA) rally scheduled to be held in Eldoret today.

Governor Mandago claimed that his competitors would use youth dressed in T-shirts branded in his name to disrupt the NASA rally that will be attended by flag bearer Raila Odinga and other opposition leaders.

The Governor called the police to follow up on the matter, secure the rally venue and arrest all individuals planning to disrupt the event.

"They are planning that when Baba (Raila) comes here for a rally they will use my branded T-shirts to disrupt the meeting.

"If they come to the meeting they should be arrested immediately,” Mandago stated.

In a quick rejoinder, Mandago's rival Independent candidate Bundotick Zedekiah Kiprop alias Buzeki, accused the Governor's team of planning to cause chaos at NASA's rally and shift the blame to him.

Buzeki asked the police to arrest anyone sent to disrupt the rally dressed in his branded T-shirts.

NASA Leaders led by Mr Odinga are expected to host campaign rallies in the North Rift region after which they will have a major rally at 64 Stadium in Eldoret town.

The North Rift region is a perceived Jubilee Party stronghold. In 2013 they overwhelmingly voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
