Michael Omondi Rejected by ODM For Taking Photo With President Uhuru Kenyatta

A 27-year-old Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) member has revealed how the party rejected him for taking a photo with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Michael Omondi alias Drogba who is a resident of Nairobi's Mukuru kwa Njenga estate explained that the photo which is being used in Jubilee billboards was taken to mean that he had shifted his loyalty to the Jubilee Party.

“I’m an ODM supporter myself, and I had hoped to vie for the position of ODM Chairman. But when they saw the posters, they turned me down saying I was campaigning for the government,” he revealed.

Omondi who was captured fist-bumping the President claims that the photo is being used to drive the agenda of how Kenyatta cares about the youth.

He added that no one had sought his consent before using his image on the billboard.

“I later came to learn that there are several billboards, one in Westlands, the second around City Mortuary and another on Jogoo Road, and these are just the ones we know about. My friends who have seen the billboards kept asking me if I now work for Jubilee,” he added.

Omondi stated that the photo was taken in 2013 when the president visited Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to commission the construction of a terminal.

He was working at the airport at the time when he took the opportunity to fist bump the Head of State.
