Mutahi Ngunyi Explains How Raila Odinga Could Be Planning to Use Military in Rigging the Elections

Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi has claimed that Opposition Leader Raila Odinga could be working on a plan to rig the elections using the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).

In his weekly piece the Fifth Estate,  the analyst and his team of students from the Fort Hall School of Government noted that recent claims by Mr Odinga that the elections could be rigged by KDF in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta could be a diversion tactic.

"Military documents do not leak and if they do, the military never confirms that they are authentic.

"To admit that this scheme is authentic is out of character and this is why we put it out to you Mr Odinga that the KDF spokesman is your agent and if this is true sir, your scheme to destroy this country is more elaborate than meets the eye," the team noted.

The team further submitted that if the KDF Spokesman was indeed Mr Odinga's agent then he could have more agents in the military who they claimed were working to rig the polls in favor of the Opposition Leader.

"If the trusted KDF Spokesman is your agent, how many more agents do you have in the KDF?

"You have accused Uhuru of using KDF to install himself for a second term. Is it possible that you are the one who intends to use rogue KDF elements like the Spokesman to install yourself? the team posed.

The group further claimed that the recent allegations by the ODM leader could a way of blaming President Kenyatta in advance for what the things he (Odinga) intended to do with the military.

In regards to the attack at Deputy President William Ruto's Sugoi's home, Prof Ngunyi made a controversial theory that the attack was not aimed at DP Ruto but the other six running mates.

"The attack was a signal to the six nondescript running mates. If the attackers of Ruto would dare, they would melt these running mates like chocolate soldiers," the Prof stated.
