Kenya Broadcast Corporation (KBC) Staff Go On Strike

Kenya Broadcast Corporation (KBC), who are members of the Communication Workers Union (COWU), have gone on strike.

According to the Union, the strike was caused by the delay in signing a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) which was negotiated in July.

COWU had issued a strike notice in July but were advised to dialogue and seek guidance on implementation from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

KBC Managing Director Waithaka Waihenya stated that they were waiting for a nod from SRC.

SRC had earlier on requested the Corporation to wait for the final advice before the end of the week.
