Lochor Apua Water Point in Turkana County Has 1 Registered Voter

Kenyans have been bracing long queues in various polling centres patiently waiting to cast their vote for their preferred candidates.

In most of the stations, electorates have been complaining over delays especially due to the high number of voters.

For instance, Umoja 1 primary school in Nairobi had thousands of residents patiently waiting to vote with the station harbouring the biggest number of voters at 36,000.

However, one voter could have it easy in choosing their candidates after it emerged that he was the only person registered at their polling station.

Lochor Apua Water Point has been the talk of town after it emerged that it only had one registered voter whom we couldn’t confirm had already voted.

A quick search on the IEBC database shows that the station which is located in Turkana West, Turkana County is one of those with the lowest number of voters.

The discovery has driven many netizens into a frenzy with many having reported to their polling stations as early as 3 am eager to avoid the long queues and exercise their democratic right.

At one of the centres, a 64-year old man collapsed and died shortly after voting in Nyando, Kisumu County.

Mr Patrick Odoyo, who was the fifth person to vote, collapsed at Lela polling station in Kobura Ward and was rushed to Ahero Sub-county hospital where he was pronounced dead.
