Residents of Isiolo North Constituency, Isiolo County, were in an uproar on Wednesday after two ballot boxes fell off a pick-up truck that was transporting them.
The residents were angered after discovering that the boxes had official IEBC serial numbers and had holes burrowed through them.
Concerned citizens sought to involve the authorities in the matter that sparked claims of rigging.
Isiolo Police Commander Mr Charles Ontita confirmed having received reports of the discovery and conducted immediate investigations.
"We received the report and officers were dispatched immediately. On their way, one of the ballot boxes was handed to them and the other had already been discovered and both boxes are here.
"The two missing boxes had caused tension as the IEBC tallying centre recorded them as missing," Mr Ontita explained to the angry crowd trying to calm them.
