Wavinya Ndeti to Challenge Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Re-election in Court

Machakos Governorship candidate Wavinya Ndeti has announced that she will challenge the governorship results in Court.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, she noted that that the Machakos governorship results were manipulated, claiming that she was the outright winner.

The former Kathiani MP challenged the speed at which the swearing in of the governor was made.

"Why did he rush to be sworn in?" she stated.

She also declined Dr Alfred Mutua's request that she joins him in working for the Machakos people.

Wavinya's running mate Peter Mathuki reiterated her sentiments adding that all was set for the upcoming court battle.

"The legal team is in place, we are going to challenge the results in court," Mathuki stated.

Governor Mutua of the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party, who was sworn in today, becomes the first Governor to take the oath after last week's election.

Other county bosses will be inaugurated into office in the coming days from tomorrow, with the last Governor expected to take the oath on August 24th.
