Jubilee, ODM and ANC MCAs Unite to Lock Out Ford Kenya From Bungoma Speakers Race

Jubilee Party, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Amani National Congress (ANC) MCAs in Bungoma County have united in a bid to lockout Ford-Kenya from the County Assembly Speaker’s race.

Jubilee leaders have also formed an alliance with independent MCAs in the county.

ODM MCA and former Majority Leader Majimbo Okumu said there was nothing wrong with teaming up with like-minded parties to ensure they select the best speaker.

"The position is very sensitive. We will not allow Ford-Kenya to front their sycophant who is not up to the task," Okumu stated.

He added, "We can't just sit back and watch. We have to strategise on how to clearly play our oversight role."

ODM leaders in the county accused Ford-Kenya leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula of fighting them.

"He wanted ODM dead in Bungoma. How do you expect us to work with him in this assembly?" posed Okumu.

Those vying for the post in the Jubilee-ODM wing include lawyer Henry Makhakara, Antonina Muyoka, who was a Woman Representative Aspirant, Emmanuel Situma, Ken Murunga, and Andrew Kituyi.

Ford Kenya party is lobbying for Fred Wanyonyi who is Wetang'ula's relative.

The Jubilee-ODM wing has been in a retreat in Nakuru discussing how to make their mark in the new government while Wetangula's team took their retreat to Eldoret.
