The High Court has ordered that a 60-year-old man who was linked to the death of IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando death be detained for seven days.
Andrew Rono was detained for a week to allow more time for investigations into alleged threatening messages sent to Msando in 2016.
Mr Rono was arrested at his place of work at KenGen Headquarters in Nairobi's Parklands on August 15.
A Sergeant at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Nicholus ole Sena, stated that during the arrest, police recovered a mobile phone that was used to send threatening messages to Msando prior to his death.
Last week a 17-year-old girl was arrested in Awendo, Migori County after she was caught with a phone that was used to send threatening messages to Mr Msando.
The suspect was brought to Nairobi where she appeared before the Kiambu Juvenile Court and was remanded at the Muthaiga police station.
She was detained for a period of seven days to enable detectives to finalise their investigations.
Last year, Msando complained of receiving threatening messages on his mobile phone and reported the matter at the Central police station.
The former IEBC Manager's body was discovered in a bush in Kikuyu on July 31, three days after he went missing. He was killed alongside a 21-year-old woman identified as Caroline Gumbu.
He was buried in his family's home in Lifunga Kobiero, Siaya County.
