I am Not Challenging Uhuru's Win - Ekuru Aukot Declares

Thirdway Alliance Presidential Candidate Dr Ekuru Aukot has stated that he is not challenging the results declaring President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of August 8 elections.

Through his lawyer, Elias Mutuma, Dr Aukot told the Supreme Court on Monday that an audit of the election process established a number of recurrent anomalies in the entire electoral period.

He elaborated that he wanted the court to establish if the whole election process was clean.

Mr Mutuma stated that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had not accounted for forms 34A and 34B, raising questions about the credibility of the election.

Earlier on, while seeking to be enjoined in the presidential petition by National Super Alliance (NASA) Flag bearer Raila Odinga, Dr Aukot denied that he had conceded defeat to President Kenyatta.

In his application to be enjoined in the Supreme Court case challenging President Kenyatta's win, the Thirdway Alliance leader disowned his chief agent’s signature that approved President Kenyatta’s win.

The Presidential Candidate stated that he refused to sign the final presidential results over massive irregularities discovered but his Chief Agent, Bill Kagai, went against the party's position to sign the document.

Dr Aukot stated that his Thirdway Alliance's National Executive Council had resolved to revoke Mr Kagai's signature on the final declaration form for presidential results and to dispute the outcome.
