Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria Comments on Supreme Court Ruling on Presidential Petition

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Thursday evening described the much awaited Supreme Court ruling on the Presidential petition as a '3rd liberation of Kenya.'

He further explained that the outcome of the case would bring down an 'iron curtain' that has made leaders of the opposition and ruling Jubilee Party not work freely with each other.

Kuria appeared to hint that the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta would be upheld by the court and suggested the future of Kenyan politics was bright.

"Tomorrow (Friday1st September) is really the true 3rd liberation of this great nation.

"Looking forward to a new era of working with TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka), Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), Rosa Buyu (Kisumu woman rep), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Sam Atandi (Alego), Ken Okoth (Kibra).....Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu (Nyali), Mishi Mboko (Likoni) and many other colleagues whom we could not freely work with in the past because of the iron curtain that we bring down tomorrow.

"Mbele Iko Sawa," read hist post on Facebook.

The Gatundu South legislator also lauded the diversity present in the 12th parliament saying it was 'the highest level of bipartisan cooperation since the advent of Multi-party politics in Kenya."

He expressed optimism in working with all MPs and assured them that the 'new era' would be beneficial to all of them.

Chief Justice David Maraga is expected to give a ruling on the presidential petition after NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga filed a petition challenging the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Odinga claimed that the General Election was flawed and some of his votes were reduced while Kenyatta's lawyers argued that the election was free and fair.
