A National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) politician has been arraigned in court after he allegedly threatened to shoot a man.
Millitonic Mwendwa alias 'Kitute' was charged with attempting to kill Wanjohi Nganga Gichamba by pointing a gun at him at Kitui River Petrol Station on August 28.
Kitute was re-arrested while having a meal in a hotel along the Kitui-Nairobi highway shortly after having been freed, on bond, in a forgery case.
The politician was arraigned before Principal Magistrate J M Munguti, where he denied the charges and was released on a Sh50,000 cash bail.
The case will be heard on October 26 with a mention on September 8.
Kitute unsuccessfully vied for the Kitui East parliamentary seat in the 2017 General Election.
He came in at a close second to the now MP from the Jubilee party, Mr Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai, who garnered 14,330 votes while Mwendwa had 11,432 votes.
