Kibra MP Ken Okoth Shames John Kerry After Supreme Court Ruling on NASA Petition

Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth has hit out at former US Secretary of State John Kerry after the Supreme court nullified the elections which the American described as free and fair.

Speaking on Friday during a NTV panel discussion, the ODM legislator rebuked Mr Kerry for declaring that the August elections were carried out in a credible manner.

“Shame on John Kerry! The lecturing he gave us was very colonialistic, imperialistic,” Mr Okoth remarked.

He added that the international election observers team should not be allowed to come back to Kenya as the country had the capacity to observe its own polls.

He further attacked IEBC lawyer PLO Lumumba for his decision to defend the electoral body that had carried out the sham elections.

“PLO Lumumba is overrated. Whoever paid him should demand a refund,” he stated.

Mr Okoth maintained that IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Ezra Chiloba should resign for what he termed as a spectacular mismanagement of the election.

In August, Kenyans attacked the former US Secretary after he posted a tweet urging anyone with a dispute regarding the just concluded elections to move to court.

Kerry, who was leading the Kenya Elections Observers Group, also urged the police to allow peaceful demonstrations.

National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga had expressed his disappointment with the reports from international election observers indicating that the  Kenyan elections were free and fair.

Speaking to CNN,  Mr Odinga noted the observers concentrated on voting and tallying but not the transmission of the results.

According to the former Prime Minister, the transmission and tallying of results were the main issue of concern and the observers failed to note and address it.
