National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Odinga made his way to Pangani Police Station on Monday where he met detained former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
He was accompanied by NASA leaders including Siaya Senator James Orengo, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Kibra MP Ken Okoth, Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.
The former Prime Minister called for the release of Mr Muthama stating that he was innocent and no evidence had been brought against him.
The ODM Party leader claimed that the arrest of Muthama was an attempt to cripple his campaign.
Mr Odinga alleged that Inspector General Joseph Boinnet was acting on instructions from President Uhuru Kenyatta when he made the arrest.
He added “Uhuru Kenyatta has given instructions. But I would like Uhuru Kenyatta to play by the rules. You are a presidential candidate, I’m a presidential candidate, let us face the people. Do not intimidate my supporters to cripple my campaign.”
Kuria and Muthama, who spent Monday night at the Pangani cells, were arrested on charges of hate-speech.
