Raila Odinga's Presidential Bid Boosted After New Announcement from NASA Politicians

National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has received a major boost in his Presidential bid after Kakamega County Opposition leaders announced that they will finance his repeat presidential election campaign.

The leaders led by Governor Wycliffe Oparanya agreed that they would contribute to their presidential candidate's campaign and even went ahead to create a payment schedule.

Other leaders present at the meeting included; Deputy Governor Philip Kutima, Senator Cleophas Malala, Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda, a number of Legislators and Ward Representatives.

The leaders reportedly agreed that all re-elected Members of County Assembly and nominated representatives will each contribute Sh100,000 with their newly-elected counterparts channelling Sh50,000 to the campaign kitty.

The MPs on their part will be required to pay Sh200,000 with the deputy governor offering to give Sh500,000.

Governor Oparanya noted that the team will also launch their campaigns on Saturday which will run uninterrupted until the end of the stipulated campaign period.

Meanwhile, in Kisumu County, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leaders led by Governor Anyang' Nyong'o over the weekend promised to volunteer as poll agents on October 17 election.

Governor Nyong'o stated that this will ensure NASA recruits only genuine agents who have the conviction to oversee a transparent electoral process and also cut down on the costs.

He further noted that they had started serious campaigns and voter protection strategy in Nyanza and Western to protect Mr Odinga's votes in the regions.

The two announcements are a major boost for the former Prime Minister as he has been calling on his supporters to send cash to facilitate his campaigns and also volunteer to be enlisted as the coalition agents in the October election.
