Ababu Namwamba Lands New Role in Uhuru's Team

Former Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has landed a new role in President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign team.

The ex-legislator will now be the team leader of the Mbele Iko Sawa campaign team headed by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.

The team comprises of  25 Members drawn from Legislators and other Jubilee party officials.

The group will be charged with the mandate of traversing the country to ensure President Kenyatta is popularised ahead of the poll.

The team has also pledged to ensure that voter turns are increased in their stronghold with Kuria personally stating that he will work to ensure that those who did not vote in the August election participate in the October poll.

"On the 17th October, I will ensure we reclaim the over 1.9 Million votes we did not get in core Jubilee areas. And figures dont lie," Kuria stated.

Last week, Mr Namwamba conveyed that the Jubilee party had set up 47 campaign leaders in every county and are confident the President will be re-elected.

"We are super prepared we are only going to tighten things in our regions, I have just taken over Busia county and Salim Mvurya is doing well in Kwale. We have replicated this model in all 47 counties," the former legislator told KTN News.

The team will this weekend head to Kitengela to campaign for the President in a campaign  dubbed "Birthday edition".
