President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Opposition Leader Raila Odinga to drop his Presidential bid since he (Raila) has too many demands and complaints.
Addressing Jubilee supporters in Mahi Mahiu, Naivasha, President Kenyatta stated that because Mr Odinga had too many conditions he should withdraw his candidature and instead go for the position of IEBC Chairman.
The Head of State explained that the constant threats and demands by the opposition were a sign that his competitors were not ready for the polls.
President Kenyatta stated that the protests by the Opposition were hurting businesses and called upon his opponents to quit if they are not ready.
“If he (Raila) does not want elections he should relax. We want to have elections peacefully,” President Kenyatta stated.
Deputy President William Ruto on his part asked the opposition coalition to use constitutional means in their quest to remove IEBC officials from office.
DP Ruto underscored that no public official will be removed from office through unconstitutional means.
"If they have a problem with IEBC let them follow due process. No one will be removed from office through protests," Ruto stated.
He maintained that if Jubilee won majority seats in all the other elective seats, there is no way it lost in the Presidential Election.
"We did not just win the Presidential election alone, we won the Gubernatorial, Senatorial, Members of National Assembly and Members of County Assembly races,” the Deputy President explained.
