Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi Kanchory Reveals Assassins Have Been Hired to Kill Him

Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi Kanchory has revealed details of an alleged plot by government officers to assassinate him.

Addressing the media Thursday morning, Mr Kanchory stated: "I've received information that the County Commissioner Kello Harsama has sent hitmen to come for me. On Monday I made a statement and exposed him for abuse of office. On Tuesday I got information that he called a secret meeting where he instructed an officer to trail me and shoot me. The information is now with the police."

He was speaking after filing a statement at Parliament Police Station where he was accompanied by his brother and ODM leaders among them Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and ODM National Elections Board Chairperson Judith Pareno.

Kanchory further declared: "We are telling Jubilee we will continue fighting for our people. We will not be cowed, we will not be threatened."

Kanchory's brother gave a clear message to the County commissioner stating; "Let him touch even a single hair on his head and he will know why the Maa people are renowned the world over for their courage."

They demanded that the county commissioner be transferred immediately and urged acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to take interest in the matter because many death threats have been ignored in Kenya only for the people to end up dead.

Kanchory had on Monday accused the County Commissioner, Mr Harsama Kello, of using his position to enrich himself. He alleged that Kello has a long history of grabbing land in Kajiado and further accused him of being part of a plot to use chiefs to rig elections in favour of Jubilee.

He told journalists, "We have information that this commissioner has been travelling all over the region and forcing chiefs to campaign for Uhuru against the Constitution."

He maintained that Kello had overstayed his welcome in Kajiado as he has been in his position for more than a decade.

"We wonder whether the county commissioner had 'married' the county. Let him know I have declared war on him which will not end soon," Kanchory stated at the time.
