"We’re dealing with matters as regards to what the Supreme Court stated. Issues raised by the National Super Alliance (NASA) will be addressed with the Supreme Court judgment so that whatever we do is in compliance with the Constitution," Chebukati stated.

The process that ended on Tuesday has seen the electoral code guiding election officials revised to specifically cater for the October 26 repeat poll.

According to the Chairman, 36 delegates deliberated and penned the changes in accordance with the Supreme Court ruling that nullified the August 8 presidential election.

The 36 officials are scheduled to further train Support Election Trainers (SETs) on the revised laws between Wednesday and Friday.

The SETs will subsequently conduct induction exercises for Constituency Returning Officers (ROs) and their deputies, Presiding Officers (POs) and their deputies, as well as ICT officers and support staff who will run the fresh presidential election beginning Saturday and ending on Tuesday.

The officials will then be deployed to the 40,883 polling stations on the eve of the election depending on whether logistical arrangements will have been completed.
