The Delegation of European Union to Kenya has blasted those issuing list of 'unreasonable' demands to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
EU specifically took issue with threats which have been issued by the National Super Allliance (NASA) to boycott the October 26 Presidential election.
In a statement released on Friday, the EU also took a swipe at Jubilee Party for pushing for changes in electoral laws just a few weeks to the election.
"As stated by the Chairperson of the African Union, with only a few days remaining until the 26th October, actions and declarations against the IEBC could have an adverse effect on its ability to fulfill its Constitutional mandate.
"Unreasonable demands, threats of boycott or attempts to change electoral regulation are to be avoided.

The Union stated that it was closely following developments in Kenya, ahead of the presidential re-run and urged the two factions to respect the independence of the IEBC.
"Following the Supreme Court ruling annulling the 8 August 2017 presidential election, it is crucial that all political actors respect the independence of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the organization of the re-run," read the statement in part.

The union committed to continue supporting the advancement of democratic governance in Kenya and to provide assistance to the IEBC.
It further asked all involved parties to engage with the IEBC in a dialogue about processes and procedures, and support its work as it prepares for the new election.

NASA wants the poll body's CEO Ezra Chiloba to vacate office and has forwarded a list of what they termed as irreducible minimums that must be met before they participate in the election.
