Through a twitter post, Mohamed stated that he had confirmed that the seven members of the team had been appointed by (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba.

Mohamed's Tweet read, "Kenyans don't be cheated that there is a project team at IEBC to conduct the 26th election. I have confirmed they are all Chiloba appointees."

On Friday Chebukati unveiled a seven-member project team that will oversee the repeat presidential election on October 26.

He did not, however, include Chiloba and two other electoral officials Nancy Kariuki and Silas Rotich.

In the new shake-up, Marjan Hussein Marjan was retained as the Projects team leader while David Towett will head operations.

The legal and compliance department will still be led by Salome Oyugi while Sydney Namilung will be in charge of the tallying centres.

Moreover, the Communication and outreach docket will be spearheaded by Tabitha Mutemi.

Chebukati announced that Albert Gogo will be the election technology lead while Agatha Wahome will handle finance and procurement.

The IEBC Boss noted that the new group did not include officers accused of bungling the August 8 presidential election.
