Najib Balala Speaks On Hassan Omar's Move To Jubilee

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has divulged new information regarding former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar's rumored official move to the Jubilee Party.

Rumors have been circulating that the former Wiper Secretary-General would be unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta as Jubilee's newest member at a rally in Serani Grounds, Mombasa on Sunday.

Balala revealed that they have been in talks with Omar and Jubilee is backing his petition challenging Governor Ali Hassan Joho's win in the August 8th election by supplying evidence of electoral fraud.

He stated; "We have been engaging with the former Senator Hassan Omar. He is a kind man and we are working very closely. In fact, half of his petition is being supported by evidence from Jubilee."

On whether Omar would join Jubilee at the Serani rally on Sunday, Balala declared "We will know on Sunday."

President Kenyatta is expected to issue title deeds for five parcels of land owned by various Islamic organizations.

Balala spoke as he inspected the Serani grounds ahead of the ceremony tomorrow.

He was accompanied by Mombasa Gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal. There had been growing discontent between factions supporting the two over who should spearhead Jubilee's campaigns in the region.

The leaders have recently, however, put a united front to calm fears of a split within the party.

Hassan Omar resigned as Wiper Democratic Movement Secretary-General a month ago, and declared that he would not campaign for NASA Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.
