Hassan Omar Joins President Uhuru Kenyatta in a Jubilee Rally

Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar on Sunday joined President Uhuru Kenyatta for a Jubilee rally in Mombasa a month after ditching the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking at a rally spearheaded by President Kenyatta in Mombasa, Omar vowed to marshal support for Uhuru's re-election.

This new move comes 16 days to the repeat presidential elections.

The former Senator was until three weeks ago the Wiper Party Secretary General before.

In his resignation, Omar stated that he quit Wiper to pursue justice in the Mombasa gubernatorial election, which he lost to incumbent Hassan Joho.

The ex-Wiper Secretary-General also cited taking time off to further his studies and reorganise his political career as more reasons for his resignation.

While addressing the supporters, he revealed that after losing the senatorial race, none of the NASA leaders bothered to call him.

He stated that Deputy President William Ruto was the first person to console him urging him not to quit politics.

This, he said made him vow to support Mr Kenyatta in the upcoming poll.

Omar hit out at the NASA led by Raila Odinga stating that there is no way Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Raila will be in government at the same time.
