NASA CEO Norman Magaya Goes Into Hiding After Fred Matiang’i’s Order

National Super Alliance (NASA) CEO Norman Magaya has reportedly been hiding since Thursday after learning police were searching for him.

This was after acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i announced that Magaya would be charged for organising NASA anti-IEBC protests which turned chaotic.

Police officers stated that they have visited various places in the city where Magaya frequents looking for him in vain.

“If you see him tell him to report to police in Nairobi Area,” one senior officer stated.

Magaya had written to Matiang’i through his lawyer Apollo Mboya warning the CS against threatening to charge him.

The NASA CEO stated that he was anxious since Matiang'i had called upon Kenyans whose property was destroyed to report to the Nairobi Central Police Station before completion of investigations.

The letter read: “Our instructions is therefore to demand as we hereby do that you respect the law, stop the illegal pronouncements and intimidation of our client, ensure the police provide security to the peaceful demonstrators, apply the law equally with respect to the group styling itself as Nairobi Business Community and stop usurping the powers of the Director of Public Prosecutions.”

“It is therefore evident that you have a pre-conceived mind to arrest our client irrespective of the outcome of that investigation,” it further read.

Last week, Matiangi, while banning demonstrations in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nairobi CBDs, announced that Magaya would be charged with destruction of property during the anti-IEBC demos.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula warned that the Opposition would hold Matiang'i responsible should the NASA CEO be harmed.
