1000 Ford Kenya Leaders Join Jubilee

1000 leaders from Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula-led Ford Kenya on Wednesday defected to the Jubilee Party during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour to Trans Nzoia county.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Endebess MP Robert Pukose stated that the leaders who defected were from the sub-locations and locations led by Ford Kenya Secretary General Martin Waliula.

Pukose stated that the leaders complained they were dissatisfied with being in the opposition and wanted to join the Jubilee Party.

"The Ford Kenya branch in Trans Nzoia has already collapsed and the leaders felt dissatisfied being in the opposition," Pukose stated.

"This move will help Jubilee garner more votes in the region," he added.

Earlier on, Waliaula had complained Ford Kenya people were living in despair despite being loyal members of the party.

He stated that the Mulembe community had never received parcels of land and further lamented that their children have not been attending school.

While welcoming the members, President Kenyatta promised to meet demands of the defectors after he is re-elected.

He noted that Jubilee's aim was to have a national party that takes care of the interests of all citizens.

"Ensure you are fully in government so you are part of its plans," President Kenyatta stated.
