The High court on Thursday blocked the government from arresting and prosecuting a National Super Alliance (NASA) leader.
High Court Judge Chacha Mwita barred the police from arresting Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga who has been in the limelight for alleged hate speech remarks.
This comes after the Woman Representative, through her lawyer Nelson Havi, filed an application at the Court.
In her submission, the NASA lawmaker stated that the police were subjecting her to unjustified harassment.

She accused acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i for stepping outside his mandate by ordering that she be summoned by the DCI.
In the suit, Wanga enjoined Inspector General Joseph Boinett and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko. The next hearing will be on November 7th.
Ms Wanga has been in the limelight after she was summoned to appear before DCI's Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) boss Setim Kandie over hate speech and offensive conduct.
Ms Kandie noted that the legislator had vital information that would be crucial for investigations.
The NASA politician was accused of making allegations touching on the public conduct of President Uhuru Kenyatta, a claim she denied.
Detectives handling the matter noted that the probe on the politician was grounded on a violation of Section 94(1) of the Penal code.
The section states: "Any person who in a public place or at a public gathering uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or whereby a breach of the peace is likely to be occasioned is guilty of an offense."
