Senator James Orengo Reveals Plan to take President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto to ICC

Siaya Senator James Orengo on Saturday revealed a new plan to take President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto back to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Speaking during a burial ceremony of Caleb Oyeya, Mr Odinga's relative in  Bondo Constituency, Siaya County, the Senator indicated that the Opposition was putting in place measures to take the duo back to Hague.

"In fact, we are gathering evidence to take them to court the second time, but this time you will be dealt with perpendicularly by the international law," he stated.

At the same time, he dared the government to sue the former Prime Minister adding that NASA lawyers are ready to tackle the case tabled in the International Court before turning back on them.

NASA leader Raila Odinga, who was also present in the burial warned Uhuru's government against deploying army in Nyanza region

"We hear they are bringing a lot of military personnel; I want them to know Nyanza is in Kenya and they should not treat our people as foreigners,"Mr Odinga stated.

Insisting that there will be no presidential election in the region, Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o emphasized the need for reforms in the electoral system to guarantee Kenyans a credible poll.

 Mr Anyang Nyong'o also indicated that they are going to push for reforms through its people adding that;"this is what we call people's power when the government does not want to listen to our demands, we go back to the people to show them the importance of these reforms,"

Cotu Secretary-General Francis Atwoli who was also present at the funeral called on the President to consider holding talks with Mr Odinga to solve the stalemate in the country which he noted could soon turn ugly.

Mr Atwoli also called upon the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati to call for the postponement of the presidential election to create more time to reconstitute the electoral body.
