He further revealed that the IEBC had received 80 percent of Forms 34A which is 27,124 forms in substantial figures.

Chebukati assured Kenyans that starting on Friday, the Returning Officers would deliver the physical forms 34A to the commission.

Mr Chebukati further ascertained that 5,319 polling stations did not send messages to confirm if they had opened for the voting exercise.

In his address, the IEBC Chair stated that voting took place in 87 percent of polling stations, that is, 35,564 of the total 40,883.

He announced that the repeat poll would take place in more constituencies other than in the four counties he had mentioned.

Questioned on whether the Saturday date planned for the repeat election would interfere with Seventh Day Adventists’ schedule, he maintained that the commission was working within the law.

He stated: “We cannot keep extending the right of voting after Saturday, the commission will have to make a decision.”

The election was postponed to October 28th in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori due to security concerns.
