Tuju Reveals What Jubilee Plans During Election in Kisumu

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has spoken on the party's plans for the repeat Presidential election to be held in four counties; Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori.

Tuju stated that in the nullified August 8th election, 6,000 people voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta in Kisumu and their right to vote needed to be respected.

He revealed that they would send agents to the counties but would first assess the security situation of the region.

He stated: "In August, in Kisumu Uhuru got 6,000 votes. The rights of those 6,000 people need to be respected."

He also maintained that the election must be conducted on October 28th in the four counties to conclude the process in line with the law.

Mr Tuju cited the Bible in response to questions on how the date would interfere with the schedules of Seventh Day Adventists' in those areas.

"Jesus said if your donkey falls in a ditch on the Sabbath you don't leave it there," Tuju stated.

The election in the four counties has since been postponed to a later date.

The former Rarieda MP also gave credit to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga for calling on his supporters to stay at home during the poll.

He, however, claimed that supporters had become used to protests and had failed to listen to Mr Odinga.

Tuju further dismissed the formation of a resistance movement as well as the threat of boycotting products and services affiliated with the Jubilee regime.

He declared: "When people become desperate, they make desperate statements. I don't think it will matter in this country."
