NASA MP Reveals Mudavadi's Plan For 2022

Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has spoken on the Musalia Mudavadi-led Amani National Congress (ANC) party's ambitions in the 2022 General Election.

Speaking in his constituency on Sunday, Mr Aseka revealed that those behind a bid to block the nomination of Barack Muluka as ANC's Secretary-General were against the party's goal of having Mudavadi on the ballot in 2022.

He stated: "The case was filed by a person who wants to derail the party from its ambition of ruling this nation come 2022.

"Raila won the election and we as a party will do our best to support the will of Kenyan people as we await 2022," Aseka added.

Muluka was chosen to replace Godfrey Osotsi, who was nominated to the National Assembly by his party.

The appointment was, however, blocked after the Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung'u announced that she had received a complaint from Evans Nyaribo, who is a founding member of the Party.

Mr Aseka noted that the appointment of Mr Muluka was meant to give the party a national outlook as he is a recognizable figure with a proper understanding of the country's political dynamics.

He maintained that Mr Muluka would serve in the position on an interim basis until the dispute is resolved.

The lawmaker noted that Mr Nyaribo should have used existing structures within the party to raise the issue before heading to the Registrar.

"It's sad that while we focus on important matters of elections, someone is trying to stop the appointment of honourable Muluka as our SG," he stated.
