Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has mocked National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters in Ukambani a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner of the repeat presidential election.
Through a post on his Facebook account on Tuesday, Kuria stated that it was a pity for NASA supporters in Ukambani to watch counterparts in Kisumu County set tyres on fire during demonstrations.
The MP went further to state that the Opposition supporters in Ukambani really wish they could be given the tyres so that they could put them to better use.
Kuria made the statement in regard to the popular belief that members of the Kamba community control the tyre business countrywide.
In the past, Kuria has made a series of controversial statements attacking NASA leader Raila Odinga together with his supporters.
In September, the lawmaker sparked anger among NASA supporters after he described the presidential election that was ordered by the Supreme Court in 60 days as casting away demons.
According to Kuria, the petition was like a demon which had been kicked out and was now attempting to come back.
He later went on to call for a "manhunt" for Odinga's supporters in Kiambu County in an effort to weed out dissent from the perceived Jubilee stronghold.
The MP was later arrested and charged with incitement, hate speech and causing ethnic contempt.
He was released on Sh2 Million cash bail or Sh5 Million bond after he denied the charges.
